Women and men are somewhat equal in the United States. They aren't separated in public so that women have to be in a certain spot away from men, but they aren't exactly treated as equally as the men. When women won the right to vote in 1920, it's said that the next step was suppose to be full equality for women under the Constitution, but it's 2015 now and it still hasn't happened since the United States Constitution still doesn't provide women with the same rights as men.
